Abstract
Microwave-optical polarization sepctroscopy (MOPS) and molecular beam laser-microwave double resonance techniques have been applied to calcium, strontium and barium monohalides. The precise determination of hyperfine parameters and electric dipole moments provided information about intramolecular fields, field gradients and the charge density distribution which are compared with the results of different bonding models and ab initio calculations.
