Abstract
Through use of the deuterated isomers of polyethylene terephthalate, it has been possible to confirm most of the previous assignments, to answer a number of questions existing in previous works, and to obtain a more complete assignment of the infrared bands. It has been possible to assign the major and most of the minor bands of not only the normal polymer but also polyethyelene-$d_{4}$-terephthalate, polyethylene terephthalate-$d_{4}$, and polyethylene-$d_{4}$, terephthalate-$d_{4}$. The procedure used in carrying out the analysis was similar to that followed by Krimm, Liang and $Sutherland^{1}$ for polyethylene.
