Abstract
Dimer complexes are classified according to the structures of component species and of the resulted complex, namely to the internal degrees of freedom. Two systems are investigated in some detail; one consists of an atom and a diatomic molecule and the other of two nonlincar polyatomic molecules. The expressions for classical and quantum-mechanical kinetic energy are derived for these two systems. For the second system two limiting cases, free internal rotation and small-amplitude oscillation, will be discussed briefly.
