Abstract

The Raman spectra of gaseous disiloxane, $(SiH_{3}){2}O$, and disiloxane-$d{6}, (SiD_{3})_{2}O$, have been recorded. Low frequency Q branches were observed at 128, 120, 110, and $94 cm^{-1}$ for the ""light"" molecule and similar Q branches were observed for the ""heavy"" molecule. The potential function for this low frequency bending mode has been determined. The low frequency spectra of several other silicon containing molecules have also been investigated.
