Abstract

Radiative lifetime measurements have been made for the A-state of OH and OD, and for the C-state of CH and CD, as a function of the rotational quantum number. These data reveal the details of the radiative and nonradiative processes depopulating the excited states of these species and resolve previous discrepancies reported in the literature. The application of these results to formation and destruction of these molecules in the interstellar medium will be noted.
