Abstract

The absorption Spectrum of $^{12}C_{^{34}S_{2}}$ carbon disulfide has been photographed at high resolution in the region 25500 to $29200 cm^{-1}$. Several hot bands with $K=\ell=0$ have been analyzed in the $\bar{a}^{3}A_{2}-\bar{X}^{1}\sum_{g}^{+}$ system (Klerman R system) and ground state B values and vibrational constants have been determined for ${V_{2}}^{\prime} = 2$ and 4. Excited $\bar{a}^{3}A_{2}$ state B values and vibrational constants have been determined for ${v_{2}}^{\prime} = 3,4,5$ and 6 and $v_{1}^{\prime}=0$ and 1. Further work on this band system as well as accompanying ones in the same spectral region is in progress.
